Ralph Kem Pellett

Feb. 9, 1931 - Dec. 20, 2007

Ralph Kem Pellett of Sussex, former longtime resident of Saylesville, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at age 76, following a long battle with cancer. He was born Feb. 9, 1931, in Bosstown in Richland County at the home of his parents, Herman and Edith (nee Hale) Pellett.

After graduation from Ithaca High School, Ralph served in the U.S. Army as an armored vehicle mechanic in Korea. Ralph was united in marriage to Jacqueline (nee Maxwell) on Oct. 22, 1951. They moved to Saylesville where they raised their family and lived for more than 50 years. Ralph worked at RTE in Waukesha for 35 years, where he developed many lifelong friendships. In retirement, Ralph used his time to be of service to friends, family and others in need. He loved gardening and especially sharing in its bounty with others. Ralph’s retirement afforded him and Jackie the opportunity to travel to the home of their children in Wisconsin and Texas to join them in a variety of projects and celebrations.

Ralph’s love, guidance and impeccable role-modeling will be deeply missed by his family, including his wife, Jackie; sons, Michael (Susan) of Grand Prairie, Texas, David (Tammy) of Menomonie, and Timothy (Barbara) of Waukesha; daughter, Therese (Christopher) Svahn of Dickinson, Texas; grandchildren, Christopher and Tracy Pellett, and Emily Svahn. He is further survived by other relatives and many friends.

Ralph is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John, Eldon and Herbert; and sisters, June, Doris, Ruth and an infant daughter.
