Helena E. Nielsen

March 6, 1915 -Jan. 30, 2007

Helena E. Nielsen, 91, of Dousman, formerly of Eagle, passed peacefully on to eternal glory at her home Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007. She was born March 6, 1915, in Norwalk, Ohio, to Louis and Louise Schick.

She married Charles W. Nielsen on Feb. 1, 1936.

Helena was a wonderful wife, mother and mentor. She had an avid interest in nature, as she was a wonderful gardener, enjoyed rock collecting and bird watching. Also, she was a talented musician and faithful servant, serving her Lord for many years by playing the organ at St. Johns Lutheran Church in North Prairie.

She will be greatly missed by her family. She is survived by her children, Philip (the late Brigitte) of Plymouth, Peter (Bobbi) of Wales, Karen (the late Doyle) Boman of Atlanta, Mich., and Paula (Patrick) Jessup of Dousman, as well as 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Louise Schick; her husband, Charles Nielsen; her son, Mark; and her brothers, Louis and Reinhold.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday, Feb. 3, at St. Johns Lutheran Church in North Prairie. Committal services will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Eagle following the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Johns Lutheran Church.
