Cindy L. Hammel
Jan. 7, 1953 - Feb. 27, 2007
Our sweet Cindy joined the family that she missed so very much Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007, at age 54. Cindy was born in Waukesha on Jan. 7, 1953, the daughter of Dale and Virginia (nee Nowatske) Hammel.
Cindy endured a long and hard-fought battle against cancer. She died with grace and dignity, placing her life in the hands of Jesus.
While she was quiet and laid back, Cindy enjoyed lucrative Las Vegas trips, times spent in the family swimming pool, scandalous Hollywood gossip, a canít-put-it-down book, and even better, finding spicy, new recipes. Cindy was truly loved and her absence will be felt by so many.
Cindy will be forever missed by those she left behind, her dear aunt and uncle, Marceine and Ed Orgas, and her special cousins, Gary Orgas, Ellen (Bruce) Leggett, Joy (Scott) Reeves, Duane (Susan) Orgas, Judy (John) Cooley, Dori (Mike) Russell, Kim (Roberta) Nowatske and Lory (Ron) Bowman. She is further survived by her honorary brother and sister, George and Sherry Leka, her treasured nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents; her dear brother, Kyle Hammel; her grandparents, Paul and Frieda Nowatske and Allen and Hazel Hammel; and her black dog, Molly.
Family and friends would like to thank AngelsGrace Hospice for their exceptional, tender care, her friends and co-workers at Markel American for their unending support, and to Dr. Anthony Ruggeri at Oncology Alliance for his extraordinary support, care and guidance during her illness.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the 7 p.m. funeral service Thursday, March 1, at Schmidt & Bartelt-Van Valin Funeral Home, 315 Main St. (Highway ES), Mukwonago. Private burial will take place at Oak Knoll Cemetery, Mukwonago.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are appreciated.
