Harriet Kenealy of Lomira died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007, at Mayville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 92.
She was born Feb. 17, 1915, in Milwaukee, the daughter of the late John and Barbara (nee Grzeca) Gromowski.
She was married for 54 years to John J. Kenealy. They were married Sept. 26, 1936, at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church in Milwaukee.
She operated the North Lake Sweet Shop and was a custodian at North Lake Grade School for many years. Harriet was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in LeRoy. John and Harriet lived in North Lake until 1979 before moving to LeRoy.
Harriet is survived by her children, Barbara (Jack) Hurlbert of LeRoy and John (Grayce) Kenealy of Waukesha; grandchildren, Patricia (Terry) Lehner, Victoria (Greg) Hartwig, John (Tina) Kenealy and Kathleen (Jeff) Lemley; nine great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Barbara Gromowski; her husband, John Kenealy, on May 6, 1990; her sisters, Sister Mary Clarisse of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, Ann Jernatowski and Clara Gromowski; her brother-in-law; Jerry Jernatowski; and her grandson, Michael.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian burial Thursday, March 1, at St. Andrew Catholic Church in LeRoy. The Rev. Tom Biersack will officiate. Burial is at St. Patrick Cemetery in the town of Erin.
