Byron E. Johnson
Byron E. Johnson, 68, of Ridgeland, formerly of Oconomowoc, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2007, at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital. He was born Oct. 15, 1938, a son of Gerhardt and Emma (nee Knoepke) Johnson. In 1961, he married Mae Rukavena.
Byron retired after 32 years at Cooper Power Co., Waukesha. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the American Legion. He served in the U.S. Army.
Byron is survived by his beloved wife, Mae (nee Rukavena); children, Joan Johnson of Hartland, Bev (Mark) Stiemke of Sullivan, Byron Johnson Jr. of Watertown, Corinna (Chris) Baumann of Oconomowoc and Paul Johnson of Watertown; and five grandchildren, Alyssa, Iris, Samantha, Krysta and Reece.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ted.
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until the 5 p.m. funeral service today, Jan. 11, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 120 Nashotah Drive, Nashotah, with the Rev. Mike Strachota officiating.
A funeral service also will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at Anderson Everts Funeral Home in Glenwood City. Interment will be at New Haven Cemetery in the town of New Haven.
