John H. Duescher

May 8, 1921 - July 9, 2007

John H. Duescher of Waukesha went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 9, 2007, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at age 86. John was born in Chicago on May 8, 1921, the son of the late Henry and Libbie (nee Jelenick) Duescher.

John married the late Marjorie Wolever on May 5, 1951. John and Marjorie lived in Glenview, Ill., for 27 years before moving to Waukesha in 1988. John worked in various companies as a mechanical engineer until he retired in 1993 at age 72. He then went to work for Batteries Plus until 2000. John enjoyed playing the organ at Linden Heights. John was a graduate of Lane Tech High School and Northwestern University. He was a member of the Wisconsin Wheelies and St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church.

John was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Marjorie, on Sept. 9, 1999.

John will be sadly missed by his daughter, Dawn (James) Shander of Waukesha; his grandchildren, Steven, Scott and Christine of Waukesha; and his sister, Francis Colburn of Bend, Ore. John is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation for John will be held from 1 p.m. until the 3 p.m. funeral service Thursday, July 12, at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 424 Hyde Park Ave., Waukesha. Burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery in Skokie, Ill.
