Michael "Mike" E. Ross, 56, and Cheryl L. Ross, 55, of Waukesha, died in a car accident on the way to their daughter’s home in Janesville on Saturday, July 7, 2007. Mike was born in Waukesha on Aug. 12, 1950, the son of Elmer and Carmella (nee Cavalluzzi) Ross. Cheryl was born in Milwaukee on Sept. 26, 1951, the daughter of Wilson and Lorraine (nee Kaplanek) Krause.

They were united in marriage in Waukesha on May 8, 1971. Mike was a lifelong resident of Waukesha. He was employed at Zignego as a cement truck driver for more than 10 years. He was an avid Packers and NASCAR fan. Cheryl was employed in inspection at MMC for more than 20 years until they closed. She lived for her bingo game. They both loved their grandchildren dearly, talking with them on the phone daily and spending most weekends with them.

Mike and Cheryl will be sadly missed by their son, Michael (Deanna) Ross of Mattoon; daughter, Michele (David) Martin of Janesville; and grandchildren, Chance and Genevieve. Mike will be missed by his sister and Cheryl by her four sisters and one brother. They will be missed by their dear four- legged companion, Lady, and are further survived by many other relatives and friends. They were preceded in death by their parents.

Visitation for Mike and Cheryl will be held from 5 p.m. until the 8 p.m. funeral service Thursday, July 12, at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha.
