George W. ‘Bill’ Small

April 15, 1925 - July 8, 2007

George W. ‘Bill’ Small of Villa St. Francis, formerly of Mukwonago and Tess Corners, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2007, at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee. He was 82. George was born in Milwaukee on April 15, 1925, the son of George Anthony and Janet (nee Godsell) Small.

George farmed with his son, Tom, in Mukwonago and most recently worked at Your Car Wash in Mukwonago. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Mukwonago.

Survivors include his children, Diane, Thomas (Arnette), Peggy, Daniel, David (Kathleen), Mark (Julie) and Debbie (Curtis) Kaschner; his grandchildren, Scott, Shannon, Shawn, Christopher, Ann, Laura, Brandon, Mariel, Ryan, Sam and William Small and Kimball Kaschner; brothers, Eugene (Lorraine) and Jerome (Marianne); sisters, Jane Koch and Marcella Melewski; a sister-in-law, Helen Small; his cherished companion, Eleanore Salb; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel (nee Koerber); three brothers, John, Allen (wife Dorothy) and Joseph; and two brothers-in-law, Wayne Koch and Bernard Melewski.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. today, July 11, at Schmidt & Bartelt-Van Valin Funeral Home, 315 Main St. (Highway ES), Mukwonago, and also from 9:30 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. funeral Mass on Thursday, July 12, at St. James Catholic Church, 830 Highway NN East, Mukwonago. Interment will be held in Oak Knoll Cemetery, Mukwonago.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the University of Wisconsin Paul P. Carbone Comprehensive Cancer Center are appreciated.
