Gordon Lindl, 94, died peacefully on Saturday, July 21, 2007, at his home of 60 years surrounded by his family.
He was born June 18, 1913, in Kenosha. In 1935, he graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in architectural engineering. For the next 40 years, he worked as a licensed architect and licensed professional engineer for the Heil Co., retiring as their chief engineer. Among his peers, he was known as an "Engineerís Engineer," always being able to translate the theoretical into the practical.
He was a longtime member of Holy Apostles Parish.
He is survived as the devoted husband of Margie (nee Kleinvehn) for 25 years and then Leona (nee Lueneberg) for 25 years; dearly loved father of Winifred Rohlinger, Bruce (Sue) Lindl and Kay (Dennis) Wentland; caring grandfather of Patrick (Janna), John (Sandy), Michael (Josephine) Rohlinger, Jessica, Miranda (Steve) and Tim Lindl and Andy Wentland; and proud great-grandfather of Abigail, Kaley, Adam, Mikey, Jack, Tommy and Joseph. Gordon is further survived by his brother, Bob; his sisters-in-law, Alma, Helen and Betty; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard and William.
A funeral Mass, visitation and private burial were held at St. Maryís Catholic Church in Waukesha and St. James Cemetery in Kenosha.

Itís a comfort to know that in Heaven, Gordonís lawn is mowed at 90-degree angles, cribbage hands are counted quickly and the drawings are drafted perfectly - and that his days will always end at his Spring Lake cottage.
