Douglas W. Dauffenbach Jr. of Waukesha died Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at Woodland Health Care Center at age 65. Doug was born in Waukesha on April 22, 1942, the son of Douglas and Lucille (nee Dahms).
Doug spent more than 30 years living in Louisville, Ky., and was a member of the Louisville Rose Society. Doug’s work in the advertising industry took him to Louisville. He later founded his own firm. He loved poetry and was a published writer and editor. At one time, he taught creative writing at the University of Louisville. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He was an avid gardener and found great solace in nature.
Doug will be sadly missed by his daughter, Elizabeth Alexander of Rothschild; son, Brian of Las Vegas, Nev.; grandchildren, Samantha, Orion and Aiden Alexander; mother, Lucille; brother, Bradley (Debbie) of Eagle; and sisters, Susan Carlton of Waukesha, Kathy Lundy of Waukesha and Mary (Tom) Cairns of Brookfield. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends.
Doug was preceded in death by his father, Douglas.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral Mass on Saturday, June 2, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Ave., Waukesha.
