Alfred C. Moedinger

Alfred C. Moedinger, 98, of Waukesha, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007, at Avalon Square. He was born Sept. 23, 1908, in Struempfelbach, Germany, to Gottlob and Luise (nee Manschreck) Moedinger.

On Jan. 2, 1942, he married the former Rose Wartzok in Madison. She preceded him in death April 6, 2000. He had worked as a woodworker at the Manitowoc Church Furniture Co. in Waukesha, proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of First United Methodist Church, Waukesha.

Alfred is survived by his nephew, George (Nancy) Wartzok of Tequesta, Fla., and his nieces, Marlene (Rodney) Leanna of Racine and Christie (Jim) Sagat of Waukesha. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Erwin, Gerald and Walter.

Graveside services with full military honors and burial of his cremated remains will take place at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, June 14, at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Baraboo.
