Diego Sanchez-Diaz, 64, of Waukesha, died Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. He was born Dec. 12, 1942, in Humacao, Puerto Rico, to Hermogenes and Leonor (nee Diaz) Sanchez.
On Jan. 10, 1969, he married Luz Morales in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico. He had been a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church since 1974, and for more than 20 years had been an usher at the church. He had worked at General Casting from 1974 until 1986. He was employed at Carroll College from 1990 to 2007.
He is survived by his loving wife, Luz of Waukesha. He is also the dear father of Diego (Jan) Sanchez Jr. of Waukesha, Juan Pedro Sanchez of Milwaukee and Dana Marie Sanchez of Waukesha and the beloved grandfather of Cameron Sanchez. He is further survived by his siblings, Ursula Torres and Angelina Sanchez, both of Philadelphia, Juan Ramon and Thomasa Sanchez, both of Humacao, and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral Mass on Tuesday, June 26, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 822 N. East Ave., Waukesha. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
