Owen W. Huegel
July 18, 1919- June 25, 2007
Owen W. Huegel, formerly of Nashotah, passed away Monday, June 25, 2007, at age 87.
Owen was born in Milwaukee on July 18, 1919, and moved to the Hartland area in 1933 and graduated from Hartland High School in 1937. He served in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II. He was a longtime member and past commander of the Hartland American Legion Flanagan Dorn Post 294 and member of the Hartland Veterans of Foreign Wars Marshall Johnson Post 5158. He retired from Wisconsin Electric Co. after 39 years of service and was a dedicated bowler in numerous local leagues as well as an avid golfer.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, Janette (nee Lund), and is survived by his children, Betsy Huegel of Waupaca and Daniel Huegel of Madison. He is further survived by his brother, Richard Huegel of Menomonee Falls, and other relatives and friends.
A gathering for family and friends will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday, June 29, at Evert-Luko Funeral Home, 170 Warren Ave., Hartland, followed by a procession to Stone Bank Presbyterian Cemetery for a military service.
