Gladys M. Bowey May 16, 1936 - June 29, 2007Gladys M. Bowey, 71, of Eagle, passed away peacefully Friday, June 29, 2007, after a courageous fight with amyloidosis. She was born May 16, 1936, in Fairchild, the daughter of Juel and Iwa Pettis. Gladys was retired from Sodexho Food Service at St. Johnユs Northwestern Military Academy. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Eagle and was involved in the womanユs organization. She also was a member of the North Prairie Fire Department Auxiliary, volunteered at LindenGrove in Mukwonago and loved to square dance. Gladys is survived by her loving husband of 52 1レ2 years, Harry; her children, Harry (Mildred) Bowey Jr. of Princeton, Paul (Debra) Bowey of Waukesha, Phillip (Carrie) Bowey of Princeton, Rosalin (Gary) Boldt of Sheboygan, Melissa (Gary) Cox of Elkhorn and Brenda (Erik) Scrabeck of East Troy; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; her sisters, Ella Holberg of Waukesha, Barbara (Dwight) Wright of Mukwonago, Georgia (Warren) Woolridge of Burlington, Sandy (Syd) Staton of St. Louis and Iva Peck of Fairchild; brother, Juel Dean (Joan) Pettis of Hudson; brother-in-law, Robert Chapman; and special friends, Diane and Ellie Hall. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Gladys was a grandmother to all. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Marianna Chapman. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, July 2, at United Methodist Church, 305 E. Main St., Eagle. Visitation continues from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Tuesday, July 3, at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are appreciated.
