Michael F. Murphy

Michael F. Murphy, formerly of Hartland, passed away Monday, March 12, 2007, at age 86.
He was born Dec. 20, 1920, in Dodgeville, to Michael and Clara (nee Convey) and graduated from Dodgeville High School in 1938. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a pharmacist mate during World War II. On June 30, 1951, he married Lucille Kulas and they moved to Pewaukee in 1953. He was a construction worker and member of Laborers Local 113. He was also a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, Hartland American Legion Flanagan Dorn Post 294 and the Hartland Veterans of Foreign Wars Marshall Johnson Post 5158. Mike enjoyed playing cards, cribbage and gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lucille; his children, Timothy (Lois) Murphy of Wausau, Mary Ellen (Jim) Prindiville of Woodstock, Ill., Karen (Leo) Murphy-Hurtgen of Elkhorn and Jerry (Jennifer Johnson) Murphy of Watertown; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandson; his sister, Mary (Jim) McFadzean of Wilmette, Ill.; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Alice Majewski; and his brother, Joe Murphy.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral Mass on Saturday, March 17, at St. Charles Catholic Church, 313 Circle Drive, Hartland, with the Rev. Tom Demse officiating. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to St. Charles Catholic Church or the charity of the donorís choice.
