Ruth Dwyer

Ruth Ann "Ranne" Dwyer, 80, of Waukesha, died Saturday, March 24, 2007, at her Avalon Square home. She was born March 15, 1927, to Clifford and Ethelbelle (nee Farnam) Thomas.

On Aug. 26, 1947, she married Edwin Dwyer in La Crosse. He preceded her in death Jan. 5, 2002. Ranne taught at Catholic Memorial from 1965 to 1968 and then at Waukesha South from 1968 until her retirement in 1982. She was a big supporter of high school sports, especially the track team that her husband coached. Mrs. Dwyer was a volunteer at the Victims Abuse Assistance Program and taught bridge for Waukesha Parks and Recreation.

She was a loving mother to Ed (Crystal) Dwyer of Escanaba, Mich., Tom Dwyer of Rockaway, N.J., Mary (Steve) Haumschild of Waukesha and Ann (Ken) Lech of Spring Grove, Ill.; grandmother to Eddie Dwyer of Detroit, Lyn Dwyer and Cathy Dwyer, both of Stevens Point, Kelley (Robert) Grorud of Janesville, John Dwyer of Greensboro, N.C., Mike Dwyer of New York City, Dan Haumschild of Buffalo, N.Y., Liz Haumschild of Waukesha, Justin Lech of Decatur, Ill., and Bridget Lech of Spring Grove, Ill.; and the fond sister of Barb (Lee) Johnson of Waukesha, Bruce (Evie) Thomas of Arizona and Betty (John) Krismer of Texas. Other relatives and friends also survive.

Visitation for Ranne will be held from noon until the 2 p.m. memorial service Saturday, March 31, at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. A private family burial will take place at a later date.

A fund will be established in Ranne’s name with any memorials received.
