Ezequiel C. ‘Zeke’ Mendez Sr.

Ezequiel C. "Zeke" Mendez Sr. went home to the Lord on Sunday, April 29, 2007, at age 85. His loving family surrounded him.

He will be dearly missed by his wife of 63 years, Maria (nee Cruz) of Waukesha; his brother, Rogelio (Maria) of Dallas; four sons, Ezequiel Jr. "Tony," Ezequio (Mary), Enrique (Kathy) and Emilio (Sandy); and his daughter, Eva (Dennis) Sada. He has 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, many brothers- and sisters-in-law, along with many wonderful friends.

Zeke was a member of B.O.L.D. (Blind Outdoor Leisure Development), the Lions Club and St. Joseph’s Guadalupe Society.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Waukesha Springs and Advantage Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, donations to B.O.L.D. in Zeke’s memory are appreciated.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Thursday, May 3, at Church and Chapel Funeral Home (at highways J and JJ, four blocks south of Interstate 94), Waukesha. A 7 p.m. rosary service will follow.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 4, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 822 N. East Ave., followed by a procession to St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waukesha.
