Harriet ‘Suzy’ Bartelmas

Nov. 27, 1916 - April 29, 2007

Harriet "Suzy" Bartelmas, 90, died Sunday, April 29, 2007, at Virginia Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Minneapolis on Nov. 27, 1916, to Glen and Cora (Short) Macomber.

She came to Waukesha in 1926 and graduated from Waukesha High School. In 1935, she went to comptometer school in Milwaukee and then worked for the former Waukesha Motor Co., now Dresser Industries, and the Waukesha Foundry.

She is the dear mother of Ann (Bob) Pelikan; loving grandmother of Steven (Carmela) Pelikan, Corrie (Chad) Randall, Sally (Larry) Granec, Peggy (Mark) Tilley and David Pelikan; and great-grandmother of Isabela and Angelina Pelikan, Olivia Granec and Joshua Randall. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Macomber and Winifred Grout, and her husband of 46 years, Edward Bartelmas.

Harriet was an avid reader, card player and letterwriter. She did volunteer work for the American Red Cross and the YWCA. She also was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Waukesha.

According to her wishes, no formal services will be held.
