Milton L. ‘Pickles’ Merath

Milton L. "Pickles" Merath of Waukesha died Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at Waukesha Springs Health and Rehabilitation Center at age 91. Milton was born April 11, 1916, in Milwaukee, the son of Charles and Bertha Merath.
Pickles proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion - Mukwonago Post 375. He was a boilermaker for John Hennes Trucking and a member of the Boilermakers Local 107. Pickles was an avid fisherman and hunter.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Florence, whom he married July 24, 1937; his children, Kenneth (Virginia) of Texas, Dennis (Martha) of Texas, Dianne Merath of Waukesha, Geralynn Olson of Waukesha, Gery (Tricia) of Waukesha, Tim (Kim) of Mauston and Barbara (Steve) Svetlik of Palmyra; 18 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; his brother, Marshall (Audrey) Merath of Greendale; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Milton was preceded in death by his parents, infant sons, daughter, brothers and sisters.
Visitation for Pickles will be held from 4 p.m. until the 7 p.m. funeral service Wednesday, May 30, at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. Interment will be held at Salem Cemetery in Wales.
