Ralph J. Eichholz

Ralph J. Eichholz of Waukesha left us to be with God on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007, surrounded by his family. He was 87.

Ralph married Marguerite "Marge" Christnacht on April 11, 1942, in Milwaukee. Ralph served our country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for 17 years at the Waukesha Freeman as a photographer and retired from Bank One. In addition to being an award-winning photographer, he enjoyed bowling, flying, fishing, golf and playing the organ.

He is survived by his wife, Marge; daughters, Darlene Poppie of Waukesha and Marilyn (Gene) Berry of Tucson, Ariz.; grandchildren, Kevin (Tammy) Poppie of Waukesha, Michelle (Roy) Borgwordt of West Allis, Todd (Anna) Craig of Tucson and Kimberly (Jon) Keeter of Modesto, Calif.; nine great-grandchildren; and other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Paul Poppie, and his dear friend, Bob Tophoven.

The family would like to thank Dr. Martin Kern, Mary and all the caregivers at Virginia Health and Rehabilitation Center, Interfaith Caregiving Network and St. William Catholic Church for all their care and support.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial Mass on Monday, Nov. 19, at St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. The Rev. Jason Lavann will be officiating. A private family inurnment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Waukesha.
