Alan Edgar Richardson

Alan Edgar Richardson, 89, passed away peacefully at his home Monday, Nov. 12, 2007.

Mr. Richardson was born in Sioux City, Iowa, to Edgar J. and Alice Richardson on May 14, 1918. He served with the cavalry of the U.S. Army during World War II. He later lived in Sheridan, Wyo., Ann Arbor, Mich., and Waukesha while enjoying a 43-year career with the Veterans Administration as a financial manager. Mr. Richardson retired to St. Augustine, Fla., in 1991.

Mr. Richardson was of the Catholic faith, a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion of Wisconsin. Alan was an outdoorsman who enjoyed both hunting and fishing.

He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his wife of 16 years, Patricia; son, Dr. James (Hattie) Richardson of Casper, Wyo.; sister, Virginia Colebank of Houston; three grandchildren, Kristin (Earl) MacEnulty and Marcus Richardson of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Summer Richardson of Salt Lake City; three great-grandchildren, Ascher Kelly, Lorien and Emma MacEnulty, all of Colorado Springs; sister-in-law, Bernadette Deesner of Waukesha; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, friends and the loving home caregivers of the past four months.

Services were held Friday, Nov. 16, at Craig Funeral Home with the Rev. William Mooney officiating. A Mass of Christian burial will be held today, Nov. 17, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Burial will follow at San Lorenzo Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made in his name to the Corpus Christi Catholic Church building fund.
