Virginia Bowey, 82, of Elkhorn, formerly of Palmyra, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007. She was born March 22, 1925, the daughter of the late Mose and Augusta Packard.
Virginia married the late William "Bill" Bowey on Feb. 2, 1945. They farmed in Palmyra for several years and later she went to work for Generac, where she retired after 17 years of service. She enjoyed spending time with her family, camping and watching the Packers, especially #4.
Virginia is survived by her loving children, James (Karen) of Elkhorn, Delcene (Robert) Budzien of Mukwonago, Richard of Delavan, Tom (Gerry) of Dousman, Darlene (Denny) Bostwick of Palmyra, Vickie (Elliot) Bakst of Mukwonago, Ron (Mary) of Dousman, Ken of Janesville, Dennis (Linda) of Elkhorn, Debbie (Gary Luebke) Fischer of Dousman, Laura (Ray) Thornton of East Troy, Mary (Randy) Kayser of Elkhorn and Duane of Elkhorn; 32 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; 20 stepgreat-grandchildren; sister, Mary Anderson of Eau Claire; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her parents; a son, William II; grandson, Tyler; daughter-in-law, Sandra; five brothers; and two sisters.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at Mealy’s Funeral Home 320 W. Main St., Palmyra. A Mass of Christian burial will be said at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 919 W. Main St., Palmyra, with interment to follow at St. Theresa Cemetery.
