Cecil B. Cox

Cecil B. Cox, 82, of Waukesha, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007, at Ruth Hospice in West Allis. He was born Sept. 27, 1925, in Fort Eustice, Va., the son of Stuart and Victoria (nee Davis) Cox.
After graduating from Glen Burnie High School in Maryland in 1944, he proudly served his country as a radioman in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1947. On Aug. 26, 1950, he married Janet Fletcher Mason in Elgin, Ill. Cecil earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering in 1952 from the University of Denver. He obtained a position at Allis Chalmers, later transitioning to A.T.C. Betatron, where he worked until retirement.
Service and charity were important to Cecil, shown through his commitment to family, church, country and community. With a love for the outdoors, he enjoyed bird watching and hiking, and also enjoyed photography. He will be deeply missed by his family.
Cecil is survived by his wife, Janet of Pewaukee; his son, Stuart Douglas (Ethel Joy) Cox of California; his daughter, Margaret ﾒPeggyﾓ (Barry Douglas) Cox of Seattle; two grandchildren, Emily and Benjamin Cox; his siblings, Ernest Cox, Hester McNeilly and Barry Cox; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister and his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, at First Congregational Church, 100 E. Broadway, Waukesha, with fellowship to follow the service at the church. Memorials in Cecilﾕs name may be made to the First Congregational Church Endowment Fund, 100 E. Broadway, Waukesha, WI 53186.
