James H. Munzel

James H. Munzel of Watertown died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007, at Watertown Memorial Hospital at age 60. He was born Jan. 15, 1947, in Watertown, to Herbert and Dorothy (nee Gaulke) Munzel. James married Lois Ann Yake on May 6, 1972 at Watertown Moravian Church.
James was a graduate of Watertown High School and graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. He served in the National Guard. James was also a member of the Watertown Moravian Church where he was a past member of the board of trustees and board of elders. James was a member of the Izaak Walton League-Watertown and he played softball for many years in Watertown, Lebanon, Richwood and Ixonia. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and spending time with family.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Munzel; daughter, Tricia (Aron) Uttech of Oconomowoc; sons, Brian (Michele) Munzel of Oconomowoc and Jason (Erica) Munzel of Watertown; three grandchildren, Olivia Uttech, Lily Uttech and Evan Munzel; a sister, Janet (Herschel) Wickert of Watertown; a brother, John (Terry) Munzel of Watertown; a sister-in-law, Mary (John) Smale of Waukesha; and brothers-in-law, Tom Yake of Waukesha and Harry (Audrey) Yake of Waukesha. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at Pederson Funeral Home, 213 S. Fifth St., Watertown. Visitation continues from 9:30 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday, Dec. 1, at Watertown Moravian Church, 510 Cole St., Watertown, with the Rev. Barbara Berg officiating. Burial will be at Watertown Moravian Cemetery.
