COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO.
Melder ‘Mig’ Figi June 3, 1915 - Sept. 28, 2007
Mig was a full-time professional speaker for 40 years and was in demand for his thought-provoking, inspirational humor messages and hoaxes, including Gunther Schmidt. As a charter member of the National Speaker Association, Mig spoke to hundreds of audiences in every state and in Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico. He started his public career in Wisconsin. Melder was a philosophy major and later became its alumni director. He formed a band, "Jig with Mig," and played the saxophone. Mig was the lead in many plays and musicals. He was the owner of the greater Milwaukee radio station WAUX in Waukesha, and served as a director of the national television and radio association. Mig is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dorothy; two children; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. There will be a private family service. We will miss Mig greatly, but he and his sense of humor live on. Swan-Law Funeral Directors, (719) 471-9900, is serving the family.
