Rodney ‘Pops’ Vilmur

Rodney "Pops" Vilmur, 73, of Aurora, Ill., and formerly of St. Charles, Ill., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007, at his residence in Aurora. He was born in Waukesha to the late Winfred "Bill" and Alice (nee Worachek) Vilmur.
Rod was united in marriage to Mary Madera on Sept. 12, 1964, in Brooklyn Center, Minn. Rodney was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Korean Conflict. He graduated from Waukesha High School and then attended Carroll College. Rod had a successful career as a sales executive in the paper and tape industry. After retirement, he enjoyed a second career as a business owner and consultant. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed bowling, travel and spending time with his friends and family.
He is survived by his wife, Mary of Aurora; a daughter, Christine (Frank) Cavaliero of New Milford, Conn.; two grandchildren, Dylan Delli-Bovi and Lauren Cavaliero; two sisters, Mary Margaret (Edward) Walsh and Doris (Art) Kohlhaas, both of Waukesha; and nine nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. today, Oct. 5, at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 S. Batavia Ave., Batavia, IL. Visitation continues from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at the funeral home. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. with prayers from the Moss Family Funeral Home before proceeding to Annunciation Catholic Church, 1820 Church Road in Aurora for a Mass at 11 a.m. The Rev. Mario Pedi, O.S.B., will officiate. Interment will follow at Marywood Cemetery in Aurora.
