Richard ‘Gus’ Nehls

Richard "Gus" Nehls, 71, of Oconomowoc, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007, at AngelsGrace Hospice.

He was born April 26, 1936, in Oconomowoc, the son Arthur and Ester (neee Hintz) Hehls.

On Jan. 12, 1963, he married Ruth Ann Buth in Sullivan. Gus retired after 35 years as an engineering supervisor at Husco in Waukesha. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sullivan.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Nehls; children, James Nehls of Oconomowoc and Tammy (Paul) Griffin of Stone Bank; and his siblings, Pat (Joyce) Nehls of Oconomowoc, Donald (Jackie) Nehls of Arizona and Patsy (George) Miller of North Lake.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the 5 p.m.memorial service Sunday, Oct. 14, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, W405 Highway 18, Sullivan, with the Rev. Dean Zemple officiating. Burial is at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Sullivan.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Dousman Derby Days parade.

The family expresses their thanks to Dr. Richard Hansen, the staff at Oconomowoc Regional Cancer Center and the staff and volunteers at AngelsGrace Hospice for their loving and compassionate care of Gus.
