William J. ‘Bill’ Ryan

William J. "Bill" Ryan, 88, of Waukesha, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007, at Clement J. Zablocki Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He was born Feb. 16, 1919, in Boltonville, the son of Maurice and Lissette (Fickler) Ryan.

He was employed for 29 years at Square D prior to his retirement. Along with being a charter member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Waukesha, Bill was a longtime member of the American Legion Post 8 and the Waukesha Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was proud to be active in A.A. in Waukesha for more than 30 years. Bill will be fondly remembered as a loving father, devoted grandfather and sweet great-bapa.

Bill will be sadly missed by his two daughters, Elizabeth (Chuck) Juckem of Waukesha and Regina (Gregory) Camas of New York; two grandchildren, Lisa (Steve) Armitage of Elm Grove and Alan Juckem of Milwaukee; two great-grandchildren, Grace and Nathan; and his siblings, Arthur Ryan, Bernice Henn and his twin brother, Maurice (Louise) Ryan. He is preceded in death by a sister, other brothers and his parents.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral Mass on Saturday, Oct. 20, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 2400 W. Highway 59, Waukesha. The Rev. Jim Loehr will preside. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Milwaukee.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bill’s name may be made to the Friday Morning A.A. "55 Plus" Group who gather at St. John Neumann (please direct to the family), or to A.B.C.D. (After Breast Cancer Diagnosis), 6737 W. Washington St., Milwaukee, WI, 53214, in honor of his granddaughter.
