Ida Kliesch (nee Kiesling)

Ida Kliesch (nee Kiesling) of Waukesha was born Jan. 30, 1930, in Poland, to German parents, the late Herman and Augusta (nee Steinke) Kiesling. She died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007.
Ida met and married the late Alfred Kliesch in Germany. In 1952, Ida and Alfred came to America with their 6-month-old son, Karlheinz. They finally settled in Waukesha. Once settled, their family grew to include Gabriele and Doris. After the children were grown, Ida went to work at Waukesha Memorial Hospital in the employee cafeteria for many years.
Ida was an avid gardener, knitter and quilter. Ida donated hours at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, St. Luke’s Quilting Club and St. Luke’s Knitting Club. Ida was a member of the Spring City Garden Club. For all of Ida’s dedication and hard work volunteering, she received a Presidential Service Award.
Ida was the loving mother of Karl (Laurie) Kliesch, Gabriele (Joe) Eppers and Doris (Michael) Hohl; cherished grandma of Jason (Heidi), Jamie (Troy) and Matthew; beloved great-grandma of Kaili; sister of Heinz (Barb), Helmut (Connie), Gerhart (Becky), Joanne (Johnny), Adeline (the late Arnold), Suzie (the late Mitch), the late Ed and the late Horst; and sister-in-law of Mathilda, Kathleen and Nancy. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until the 4 p.m. funeral service Sunday, Oct. 21, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 300 Carroll St., Waukesha.
