Lynn H. Conrad

Lynn H. Conrad, 87, of Waukesha, formerly of Bloomington, Ind., died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007, at Franciscan Woods in Brookfield. He was born June 16, 1920, in Marshfield, Mo., the son of Seth V. and Etta (Harrison) Conrad.

He married Dortha Drumright on June 22, 1941, in Marshfield. Lynn was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force in World War II. He worked as a civilian in both the Army Corps of Engineers in Louisville, Ky., and the U.S. Navy in Crane, Ind. Upon retirement in 1978 after 38 years of service, he was given the Navy Superior Civilian Service Award, the second highest non-combat award given by the secretary of the Navy. Always active in church, Lynn was a member of Baptist churches in Louisville, Bloomfield, Ind., and Bloomington, and was currently a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Waukesha. He enjoyed giving his time to the Green County, Ind., Mental Health Association and the Green County United Way. He was also a member of the Bloomfield Lions Club and Bloomington Golden Age Kiwanis Club. An avid sports enthusiast, Lynn especially enjoyed the Indiana University teams, and was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinal’s fan.

Lynn will be sadly missed by his wife of 66 years, Dortha; two daughters, Carol (Richard) Stahl of Plymouth, Minn., and Janis (James) Trebby of Waukesha; four grandchildren, Robin (William Gottis) Stahl of Chicago, Timothy (Kelly) Stahl of Chicago, Brian Trebby of Waukesha and Matthew Trebby of Waukesha; and one great-grandchild, Katie Gottis.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, one brother and his parents.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Friday, Oct. 26, at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. The Rev. David Ellis and the Rev. Robert Curtis will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waukesha.
