Joyce E. Lurvey, 80, of the town of Oconomowoc, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2007, at Brookfield Rehabilitation and Special Care Center in Brookfield.

She was born Oct. 24, 1926, in Waukesha, the daughter of Arthur C. and Emily (nee Gygax) Schmocker.

In 1944, she graduated from Waukesha High School. She married Royal C. Lurvey on June 11, 1949, in Waukesha.

Her memberships included First Presbyterian Church of Ottawa and the National Wildlife Association. She was also a supporter of various humane societies.

She is survived by her children, Ernest (Jennifer) Lurvey of Marshfield, Martin (Linda) Lurvey of Illinois, Susan Lurvey of Madison and Marilyn (Otto III) Panzenhagen of Menasha; grandchildren, Brenda Lurvey of Rockford, Ill., Timothy Lurvey of Marshfield, Benjamin Lurvey of Marshfield and Otto Panzenhagen IV of Menasha; stepgrandchildren, Chad Panzenhagen of Waupon and Nathan Panzenhagen of Hartford; brothers, Arthur F. (Carol) Schmocker of Fox Lake, Gilbert of Oklahoma City, Philip (Eileen) of Waukesha, Franklin (Carol) of Ixonia and Ellis (Karen) of the town of Genesee; sister, Janet (Robert) Perkins of Waukesha; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Emily Schmocker; husband, Royal Lurvey; and daughter, Joan.

Visitation will be held 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, at Pagenkopf Funeral Home, 1165 Summit Ave., Oconomowoc. Visitation continues from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. funeral service Tuesday, Sept. 11, at First Presbyterian Church, 35415 Highway D, Dousman, with the Rev. Linda Pflugfelder officiating. Burial is at Town of Ottawa Cemetery.

Memorials are appreciated to First Presbyterian Church of Ottawa or the Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha County.
