WAUKESHA

Jeanette E. Brandt

May 4, 1919 - Sept. 21, 2007

Jeanette Brandt of Waukesha passed away peacefully in her sleep at home Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007, at age 88. She was born May 4, 1919, in Pewaukee, to Herman and Mary (nee Horning) Buntrock.

On Sept. 8, 1943, she married Leander Brandt and together they ran a dairy farm on Highway G in Pewaukee. In 1959, they sold the cows, but continued to grow and sell various crops including pumpkins. They sold the land in the late ‘70s, which is now known as Accent Court and Shelley Lynn Drive, named after their granddaughter who died at age 2. After her husband’s death in 1991, Jeanette sold the homestead and moved to Waukesha. She had many hobbies over the years, including ceramics, knitting, crocheting, macramˇ and cake decorating. She also enjoyed reading and spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her beloved cat Casper.

She will be deeply missed by her children, Mary Lee Geszvain, Phillip Brandt (Eileen Mantey), Cherie Pero and Leanne (Michael) Bennett. She is further survived by 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leander, her parents, her brother, her granddaughter and many sisters- and brothers-in-law.

Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 26 at the funeral home with visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. The Rev. William McBride will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 25 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
