Theo ‘Ted’ Himmelwright

Theo "Ted" Himmelwright, 86, passed away Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007, in Milwaukee. He was born in Coblens, Germany, on Oct. 29, 1920, a son of the late Theo and Paula (nee Kamerath) Himmelwright.

He was raised in Chicago, where he met his loving wife, Alyce Ahlgrim. He served in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II. He was especially known for his sense of humor.

Theo is survived by two daughters, Lorilee (Lee) Peterson and Jeanne Jung; a son, William (Cheryl) Himmelwright; five grandchildren, Joan, Keri, Lance, Brian and Amy; 12 great-grandchildren, Lindsey, Jessica, Grace, Delaney, Trey, Claire, Madelaine, Guy, Owen, Mara, Patrick and Alice; and a sister-in-law, Donna Ahlgrim of Stoughton.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Alyce, and his first grandchild, Jacqueline Zoret.

Visitation will be held from noon until the 1 p.m. funeral service Thursday, Sept. 27, at Olson-Holzhuter-Cress Funeral Home, 206 W. Prospect Ave., Stoughton, with the Rev. Gaylen Van Loon officiating. Burial will follow at Albion Prairie Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by the Stoughton American Legion Post #59 Honor Guard.
