Norman M. Jahnke
June 22, 1923 - April 1, 2008
Norman Martin Jahnke, 84, of Delavan, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at Williams Bay Care Center in Williams Bay. He was born June 22, 1923, in the town of Johnson, Marathon County, the son of Martin and Mary (nee Bargander) Jahnke.
He married Betty Redmann on Sept. 28, 1946, in Wausau. She preceded him in death on March 5, 2003. Norman was a tool and die maker, retiring from Seaquist Plastics in Mukwonago on June 30, 1994. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and belonged to the Burlington Rifle Club and other hunting organizations.
He is survived by his four children, Martin (Jeanne) Jahnke of Mauston, Allan Jahnke of Delavan, Marilyn (Richard) Cameron of Delavan and Nanette Jahnke of Whitewater; six grandchildren, Keith (Carrie) Jahnke of Waukesha, Kelly (Joe) Burges of Waukesha, Amy Jahnke of Janesville, Michelle Anzalone of East Troy, Julie (Scott) Deml of Gailsville and R. Joel (Amanda) Cameron of Janesville; and 11 great-grandchildren, Toni and Kayla Jahnke, Kaitlyn and Alex Burges, Levi and Alex Morris, Cameron and Savannah Deml and Kaitlyn, Emily and Zakary Cameron.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty; his sister, Amelia Voigt; and a great-granddaughter, Stephanie Burges.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. today, April 3, at Monroe Funeral Home, 604 E. Walworth Ave., Delavan. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 4, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 416 W. Geneva St., Delavan, with the Rev. Robert P. Rickman officiating. Burial will be at Spring Grove Cemetery in Delavan.
