Ellsworth F. ‘Butch’ Goetz

Ellsworth F. "Butch" Goetz, 65, formerly of Brookfield, passed away at his home in Eau Claire on Sunday, March 30, 2008, after a courageous yearlong battle with cancer. Ellsworth was born Jan. 24, 1943, to the late Ellsworth and Viviene (nee Hougland) Goetz in Milwaukee.

He spent his youth in Brookfield, where he graduated from high school in 1961. Butch entered the electrician program shortly after graduation. He enjoyed his line of work, whether it was residential, commercial or industrial, until his retirement in 1998. Butch was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was especially interested in turkey and bow hunting. In the winter, his interest turned to snowmobiling.

He is survived by his children, Jeff (Lisa) Goetz of Eau Claire, Kevin Goetz of Dousman, and Tracy (Mike) Ward of Mukwonago; seven grandchildren; sister, Elvina (Tim) Schmidt of Racine; a nephew; and many friends.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the 11:30 a.m. funeral service Friday, April 11, at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Chapel of the Flowers, in Brookfield.
