Russell H. ‘Russ’ Druley

Russell H. "Russ" Druley of Waukesha died Saturday, April 5, 2008, at AngelsGrace Hospice at age 90. Russ was born Aug. 26, 1917, the son of Charles and Hilda (nee Lindgren) Druley.

He was united in marriage to Shirley Johnson on Sept. 15, 1979. Russ attended college at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post No. 8 of Waukesha. Russ was an active member at Ascension Lutheran Church, Waukesha, and enjoyed singing in the choir. Russ was a Scout master, enjoyed dartball and bowling, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.

Russ will be deeply missed by his wife, Shirley; children, Scott (Kathy) Druley of Clarkston, Wash., Candis (Brion) Henes of Waukesha, Peter Druley of Lake Mills, Diane (Dennis) Dietscher of Hales Corners, Russell (Ila) Johnson of Black Creek, Bruce (Cheryl) Johnson of Waukesha, Carole (Curt) Johnson of Thornton, Colo., and David Johnson of Galveston, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Russ is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Russ was preceded in death by his parents, sister and grandparents.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Thursday, April 10, at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1415 Dopp St., Waukesha. The Rev. Frank Janzow will be officiating. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Waukesha.
