Edwin H. ‘Ed’ Schwister

Edwin H. "Ed" Schwister joined his late loving wife, Loraine (nee Wittlin), and parents, Henry and Clara (nee Jonen) Schwister, on Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at age 94, at AngelsGrace Hospice.

He will always be remembered and dearly missed by his son, Donald (Mary Ann) Schwister; daughter, Mary (Richard) Bock; his grandchildren, David (Carla) and Michael (Eileen) Bock, Shellie (Ed) Javier, Ann (Juan) Santamarina, Bob (Gina) and Julie Schwister, Jill (Paul) Keuler and Shelly (Chris) Mrstik; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Samantha, George, Andrew, Maggie, Eli, Ty, Reuben, Nikko and Charles; sister, Irene (the late Rich) Umhoefer; brother-in-law, Ed (the late Joan) Wittlin; sisters-in-law, Millie (the late Allan) Schroeder, Elizabeth "Toots" (the late Ken) Duehring and Virginia (the late Ivan) Wittlin; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, John (Margaret), Henry (Marie and Ruth), Alvin (Florence) and William Schwister; sisters, Elsie (Joe) and Gertrude (Leander) Wick and Anna (Joe) Burkwald; and sister-in-law, Bernice (Ed) Wick.

Visitation will be held in the gathering space of Queen of Apostles Catholic Church, N35-W23401 Capitol Drive, City of Pewaukee, from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral Mass on Saturday, April 19, followed immediately by a luncheon in the parish community room. Committal and burial will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery, Menomonee Falls.

Ed was a longtime employee of Schwister Ford and owner of Eddie’s Beer Depot. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Menomonee Falls All Saints Council 4240, St. Joseph’s Benevolent Society, a life member of St. Anthony’s Parish, Fussville, and a member of the cemetery board. He was also a member of the Queen of Apostles Church for many years.

Memorials in Ed’s name to the Fr. Carl Alberte Scholarship Fund or TYME OUT Youth Ministry would be deeply appreciated.
