March 22, 1918 - April 19, 2008
Lucille Ward, formerly of Big Bend, found eternal peace Saturday, April 19, 2008, at age 90. Lucille was born March 22, 1918, the daughter of Adolph and Pauline Schiller.
Lucille was married to George Ward for 55 years, until his passing in 2001. Lucille was a longtime employee of the First National Bank in Waukesha, where she worked in the auditing department. She was a longtime and active member of the Vernon United Presbyterian Church, where she was involved in many groups and where she was a choir member for more than 50 years. Lucille had a great love for growing flowers, and she spent countless hours tending her flowers and sharing them with others. After retirement, Lucille and George spent time traveling the country, and the couple spent their winters in Texas, where they developed many lasting friendships.
Lucille is survived by her daughters, Jeanne Kelsey, Barbara (Bill) Wellman and Nancy (Ken) Martin; and by her grandchildren, Carrie and Joseph Kelsey, and Kassie and Brianna Martin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Ward.
Visitation for Lucille will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 23 at the Vernon United Presbyterian Church, S71-W23280 W. National Ave. (Highway ES) in the town of Vernon, with funeral services at 5 p.m. at the church.
If desired, memorials to the church or to LindenGrove in Waukesha would be appreciated.
Her entire family will be forever grateful to the caring staff at LindenGrove and to Dr. Robert Schellinger for making her final days so peaceful.
