Edward C. ‘Ned’ Wilkinson
Edward C. "Ned" Wilkinson, 78, of Oconomowoc, a longtime resident of Shorewood, was born to eternal life Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008.
Ned is survived by Jean (Foti), the wife he so adored; as well as those he termed their "sensational sixteen," Jim, Nancy, Matt and Caitlin, Maripat and Julia, Geri, Sarah, Tom, Emily, Alex and Ben Acker, Tim, Nancy, Bo and Dibet; and dear relatives and friends.
Ned was a basketball star at Oconomowoc High School and played one year at Marquette University, from which he graduated in 1954. Ned was an Al McGuire fan and a Warrior to the end.
Ned spent his professional life as a dedicated teacher and administrator in Milwaukee Public Schools and served the students of Fulton Junior High, as well as Bay View, Lincoln, Washington and Milwaukee Tech high schools. Ned was an athlete, Korean War veteran, activist, man of faith, volunteer, idea man - a person who devoted his life to others and who lived with a generous spirit to make our lives happier and easier. He loved most spending time with Jean, his children and grandchildren.
Ned's family would like to thank Dr. Wm. Cooper and the staffs of Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital and Shorehaven Health Center, as well as Ned's numerous doctors, nurses and aides, all of whom worked to make Ned's last months as optimistic and comfortable as possible.
