James E. Tiller

James E. Tiller, 66, of Palmyra, passed away Monday, Aug. 11, 2008, at Fort Atkinson Hospital. He was born Nov. 1, 1941, in the town of Aken, the son of the late James and Camillia Tiller.

James was retired from Amron, where we worked as a tool and die maker, and also retired from the National Guard and the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a member of St. Marys Help of Christians Catholic Church in Sullivan and the Hancock American Legion. He enjoyed spending his summers at their cabin in Hancock.

James will be sadly missed by his wife, Mary (nee Kelley), whom he married July 26, 1969, at St. Marys Catholic Church in Waukesha; his two children, Jim (Paula) and Melissa (Mark) Berlick of Palmyra; three grandchildren, Samantha, Mary Ellen and Travis; brothers, Fred (Marilyn) of Blue River and Mark (Martha) of Juneau; sisters, Janet (Bernard) McCormick, Rose (Ronald) Teach of Blue River, Jean (John) Tiller of Madison and Patty (Kevin) Multauf of Stoughton; and a special friend, Jim Thompson. James is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, John, and a brother, William.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian burial Monday, Aug. 18, at St. Marys Help of Christians Catholic Church, Highway 18, Sullivan, with the Rev. Thomas Coyle officiating.
