Beatrice ‘Bea’ Brandt

**PIC** Beatrice “Bea” M. Brandt, 89, of McFarland, passed away in Waukesha on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008. She was born in Blooming Grove on March 7, 1919, a daughter of the late Emil and Sadie (nee Barlow) Wold. 

She met Chester Brandt on the dance floor, and they were married and danced together for more than 64 years. Bea worked as a cook at the McFarland Schools and sold Stanley products for many years. She had a wonderfully positive attitude and always found a reason to smile. She loved people and she loved her family and their visits very much.

Bea is survived by six children, Jerry (Naomi) Brandt of River Falls, Gordon (Carol) Brandt of McFarland, Patricia Martinelli of Fitchburg, Joyce (Gene) Kosbau of Cottage Grove, Victoria (Rich) Friedeck of Waukesha, and a foster daughter, Kathy Martin of Deerfield, 18 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Lucille; a brother, Bob; and sons-in-law, Carl Hopke and Emil Martinelli. 

Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 18, at McFarland Lutheran Church. Burial was held in Upper McFarland Cemetery.
