“Ted” Cahill of Naples, Fla., died Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, at age 89. He was born in June of
1919 in Waukesha. Edward was the youngest son of Gertrude and Mark Cahill. He graduated from
Waukesha High School in 1938. During his school years, he served as
manager of several athletic teams, was a “W” wearer and was active in
the YMCA, among other activities. In 1976, he retired
from the Cahill Lumber and Coal Co., which he operated with his brother,
Richard. The brothers also built homes in the city. With his wife, Grace
(nee Ray), he built a home on Marco Island in Florida and became a
resident there. In 1993, they moved to Bentley Village in Naples, where
his wife died. Ted was an avid
fisherman, a duck hunter and a collector of wildlife art. He is survived by
three nephews, the sons of Richard (Elizabeth) Cahill, Timothy in Montana,
and Richard and David in Arizona. Cremation took place
