Melvin ‘Mel’ Meeth

Melvin "Mel" Meeth of the town of Genesee died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008, at his home at age 60. He was born June 9, 1948, in Waukesha, to Leo and Lucille (nee Supanich) Meeth.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1968 to 1970. For 37 years, he worked for the city of Waukesha, retiring in June 2005. His passions were his family, the outdoors and spending time at his cabin. Mel was a member of the Genesee Wales Lions Club and the Springbrook Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was the founding father of the Sticks & Strings Bowhunters Club (1972) and played on the Genesee Rebels Land o’ Lakes Baseball Team (1994).

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Paulette (nee Roeder); along with their sons, Sam (Sherra) Meeth and Scott (Lynell) Meeth; and grandchildren, Axel, Mason, Taylor and Alex Meeth. He is further survived by his nieces, Kathina Brincefield, Jennie and Sandra Meeth, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Raymond.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the 7 p.m. funeral service Thursday, Aug. 28, at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Burial with full military honors will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, at Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner.
