Elizabeth A. Kerr

Elizabeth A. Kerr of Waukesha died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008, at Virginia Health & Rehabilitation Center at age 80. She was born May 5, 1928, in Billingham, Wash., to Arnold A. and Eleanor (nee Hindley) Horlick.

She attended the school for the blind in Janesville. Although she was legally blind, she accomplished so much in her life. She raised seven children as well as working outside the home as a nurse’s aide, cook, home health aide, Sunday school teacher, Head Start teacher and volunteered her time at the Virginia Health & Rehabilitation Center. She enjoyed canoeing, knitting, crocheting, embroidery and cake decorating. Elizabeth was a longtime member of St. Matthias Episcopal Church.

She will be sadly missed by her children, Michael (Cathy) Kerr of Sullivan, Robin (Steve) Jones of Niles, Mich., Larry Kerr of Eagle, Peter Kerr of Waukesha, Sherrie Liebenthal of Waukesha and David Kerr of Waukesha. She was the dear grandmother of Jimmy, Billy, Charlene, Alex Jr., Stevie, Leslie, Mallory, Andrea, Crystal, Patrick, Nick, Brandon, Tracy, Christopher, Tammy, Roseann, Kerry, Tanya, Saraha, Rick and Danny. She is further survived by 20 great-grandchildren; her sister, Lexi (Peter) McGregor of Michigan; niece, Kathleen (Rex) Dressel of Indiana; nephew, Gary McGregor of Michigan; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Alex; and infant granddaughter, Julie.

A memorial Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at St. Matthias Episcopal Church, 111 E. Main St., Waukesha, with the Rev. David Simmons presiding.
