Willard L. ‘Willie’ Malone

Willard L. "Willie" Malone of Hartland passed away at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008. He was 89 years old.
Willie was born Dec. 10, 1919, in the town of Merton to Leo and Anna (nee Wittenable) Malone. He was united in marriage to Viola Becker on June 17, 1939, at St. John Catholic Church in Monches.
Willie was a lifelong member of St. John Catholic Church in Monches. He was also a member of the Monches Rec. Club and the Teamsters Union Local No. 200. Willie was an avid recycler. He owned the Monches Gravel Pit for 45 years and was known to many as the "Mayor of Monches."
Willie is survived by his wife of 69 years, Viola; his daughters, Jean (David) Geszvain of Oconomowoc, Ann Malone of Madison and Grace Malone - Fochs (Lawrence) of Merton; 10 grandchildren, Michael, John, Karen (Michael), Mark (Alicia), Patrick (Carol), Matthew (Sara), Sara, Hayley, Ian and Cory; 18 great-grandchildren, Dillion, Katlyn, Ashley, Alyssa, Ryan, Tyler, Andrew, Abigail, Madison, Joseph, Miranda, Gabriella, Allison, Luke, Sammantha, Manuel, Ashley and Joshua; and his nephew, Wayne (Carol) Lepien of Waukesha. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Eleanore, and two brothers, Elmer and Donald (Ruth) Malone.
A Mass of Christian burial for Willie will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church (St. John’s Church) W302-N9583 O’Neil Road, Monches, with the Rev. Tony McCarthy officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, at Shimon Funeral Home, Hartford.
Interment will be at St. John’s Cemetery, Monches.
Memorials to the Monches Rec. Club or Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church would be appreciated.
