Kent W. Roehr

Kent W. Roehr, 70, passed away Tuesday,
Dec. 16, 2008, at his home. He was born Dec. 15, 1938, in Milwaukee, son
of the late John and Mary (Detko) Roehr.
Kent was a 1956 graduate of Rufus King High School in Milwaukee. Four
years later, on June 11, 1960, he married his high school sweetheart, Jean
Ann Rosenquist, and the couple just celebrated 48 wonderful years of
marriage. After high school, Kent received his bachelor’s degree from
the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, and received his master’s
degree from Santa Clara University in California. He was employed by New
Berlin West High School from 1963 to 1990 as a math teacher. Kent was a
longtime member of Bethel Hill United Methodist Church in New Berlin prior
to moving to Combined Locks, where he joined Peace United Methodist
Church. He was an avid Packers and Badgers fan, and enjoyed playing
bridge, chess and tennis and doing yard work.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Jean; his daughters, Beth
(Chuck) Sauder of Appleton, Sue Laughrin of De Pere and Patty (H.J.)
Michels of Bloomington, Ill.; his seven grandchildren, Lauren, Thomas,
Mason and Mitchell Sauder, Michaela Laughrin and Christopher and Jessica
Michels; his brother, Ron Roehr of Cincinnati; as well as several nieces
and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law,
Mike Laughrin, and two brothers, Jack Roehr and Bob Niemann.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the noon funeral service
Friday, Dec. 19, at Peace United Methodist Church, 2300 Wisconsin Ave.,
Kaukauna, with the Rev. Tim Albrecht officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to the National Multiple
Sclerosis Society.
