Calogero ‘Kelly’ A. Pagano

Calogero "Kelly" A. Pagano of Waukesha died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at age 96. Kelly was born June 6, 1912, in Pueblo, Colo., the son of Calogero and Catherine (nee Maurello) Pagano.

He married Grace (nee Vitale) on Oct. 19, 1940, and served his country during World War II with the U.S. Navy. Kelly owned and operated Little Joe & Kelly’s Tavern in Waukesha from 1947 to 1976. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waukesha since 1953.

Kelly will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Grace of Waukesha; children, Mary (Ted) Kuemmel of Waukesha and Richard Pagano of Elk Grove Village, Ill.; grandchildren, Angela, Rebecca, Michael, Kathryn, Matthew and Kaitlyn; brothers, Joseph of Waukesha and Leonard of Jasper, Ga.; sisters, Rose Pagano of Waukesha and Annie Biscuso of Columbus, Ohio.

Kelly was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Victor Pagano; daughter-in-law, Mary Kay Long Pagano; and grandson, Richard A. Pagano.

Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until the 6:30 p.m. Mass on Monday, Dec. 22, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186, with the Very Rev. James T. Volkert presiding. A private family interment will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Waukesha.

In lieu of flowers, memorials and masses in Kelly’s name are appreciated to St. Mary’s Catholic Church (see address above).
