Dottie Joanna Gillett (nee Mulkey)

Dottie Joanna Gillett (nee Mulkey) of Waukesha died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2008, at age 101. Dottie was born in Iowa on Oct. 4, 1907, the daughter of Fay and Hattie (nee Mulder) Parker.

Throughout her life, Dottie was a homemaker, substitute teacher, interior decorator and worked with an insurance agency. Dottie was a member of First United Methodist Church for more than 50 years. She was also a member of United Women of the Methodist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star and Asbury Fellowship.

Dottie will be sadly missed by her son, Bradley Mulkey of Waukesha; daughter, Barbara Gallina of Waukesha; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Mrytle Ruiz of New Orleans and Verelyn Parker of Sioux Falls, S.D. Dottie is further survived by other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Chester Mulkey, in 1948; her second husband, Barry Gillett, in 1985; and her son, Warren Mulkey, in 2004.

A funeral service for Dottie will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. Burial will take place at Prairie Home Cemetery, Waukesha.
