Jeanne A. Mundt

Jeanne A. Mundt (nee Brisk), homemaker, loving mother and grandmother, died in Ashland, Ore., on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008, at age 93.

A native of Waukesha, she made her home in Ashland for the last eight years. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Carl W. Mundt; mother, Emma Brisk (nee Schultz); father, Roy Brisk; and brothers, Clyde Brisk and Richard Brisk. She was a member of the Evangelical and Reformed United Church of Christ in Waukesha before her move to Oregon.

Jeanne had a passion for watching soap operas and was an avid stamp collector and crossword puzzle afficianado. Always ready for a decent chocolate, she enjoyed and often contributed to her ever-present sweet tooth.

Most of all, best of all, Jeanne will be remembered for her loving thoughtfulness and deep affection for her family and friends. There will never be another Mom or another Grandma to equal her.

She is survived by her devoted daughter, Jeanne Fate (nee Schmitz) of Ashland, Ore.; and a granddaughter, Grace Fate, whom she idolized. She is further survived by sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Brisk and Gladys Brisk, both of Waukesha; nephews, Jeffrey (Jo Ellen) Brisk, Roger (Gina) Brisk, David (Geraldine) Brisk, Thomas (Martha) Brisk; and other relatives and dear friends. A memorial service to be held in Ashland, Ore., will be announced later this month.

A special note of gratitude goes to Ashland Community Hospice and especially Kim Collier, Jeanne’s nurse, who handled her job with grace and compassion.
