Della W. Hansen

Della W. Hansen of Mukwonago passed away Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. She was 95. Della was born Oct. 26, 1912, in Orient, S.D., the daughter of Herbert and Elsie (nee Noble) Mitchell.

Della graduated from Redfield High School of Redfield, S.D., in 1929, and Aberdeen Business College of Aberdeen, S.D. Moving to Wisconsin in 1930, she spent her working years as a legal secretary with the public school systems and various legal firms in Walworth and Waukesha counties.

On July 11, 1971, she married Warren E. Hansen.

Della was a member of Caldwell United Methodist Church and the LaBelle Chapter #40 of the Order of the Eastern Star, Mukwonago.

She is survived by her husband, Warren; stepdaughter, Donna (Wayne) Martin of Lake Mills; stepson, Warren E. (Eunice) Hansen Jr. of Delavan; five grandchildren, Todd (Jacqui) Martin, Jill (the Rev. Kevin) Wattles, Timothy, Andrew and Anne Catherine Hansen; four great-grandchildren, Michael and Sydney Martin and Kortney and Joshua Wattles; and nieces, nephews and many friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents and a sister, Mel (Richard) Katzman.

Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until the 7 p.m. Eastern Star service Sunday, Feb. 24, at Schmidt & Bartelt-Van Valin Funeral Home, 315 Main St. (Highway ES), Mukwonago. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, at Caldwell United Methodist Church, 8504 Caldwell Road (Highway O south of Highway L), Mukwonago. The Rev. Grace Baldridge will be officiating. Burial will follow at Caldwell Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mukwonago Kiwanis Foundation Inc. or the Old World Wisconsin Foundation.
